This project explores the historical evolution of the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), from its beginnings as a conservative, Disney-funded Institution to its transition as a “Hippie Sanctuary.” One of the main challenges of this project was stepping into the audience’s shoes to create an engaging exhibition that drew people in without replying to verbal cues or instructions. By employing creative design methods and interactive elements (such as a 3d map with miniature Tents and RVs, photo standins, and a poster that had a see through frame) to captivate and guide the audience seamlessly.
